In Lakewood, Washington, The Lake City Community Church family places great value on worshiping God with our lives, serving one another through community and discipleship, and serving others in the world as Jesus served us.
In an effort to support their mission of advancing God’s Kingdom by making fully devoted followers of Christ in Lakewood and the world, they teamed up with Merit Construction and BPH Architects for the team-build of a new 19,500-square-foot addition of Worship Space to their existing church.
The project also included a future children’s area and renovation of the existing 9,500-square-foot Worship Space into a Gathering Area.
To help with building access, a new south entrance was constructed with access to both the upper and lower levels and an additional parking area.
The Worship Space comprised of a state-of-the-art audio-visual system, infrastructure upgrades including new electrical service, heating and ventilation, fire sprinkler system and new fire alarm system.
A new baptistry with a floating cross, handcrafted by one of Lake City Community Church’s own members, completed the congregation’s vision for their new Worship Space.
“Merit Construction was brought into our project during the design phase. Their constructability and value engineering contributions were significant to the job success,” said John Haddick, Elder. “From initial estimating through final completion, we had the full commitment of their staff – from owners, administrative personnel, site supervision and workers.”
