Like most of the music world, C3 Church in Clayton, North Carolina, wanted to leave analog behind and enter the digital realm.

It was clear to Troy Payne, production manager at C3 Church, there was no better guide than Morris Integration, headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, to make this happen seamlessly and within budget.

“C3’s aging technology created distraction and frustration for the staff and congregation,” explains Morris general manager, Philip Hagood. “The new DiGiCo and KLANG system will allow for more dynamic, distraction-free communication and ministry at C3.”

The decision to go with this remarkable console was about a year in the making.

Morris began as an advisor, which led to looking at several different options.

Morris sent a number of board demos and equipment quotes to the church before they enthusiastically chose the DiGiCo SD-10.

“In the end, it boiled down to three things: quality, user interface, and scalability,” Payne says. “The DiGiCo SD series of consoles has proven itself to be one of the best for all types of live production. The user interface is well laid out and easy to set up for a team of volunteers to operate comfortably.”

The console upgrade was complemented by three SD racks with 56 inputs each, operating at a 192 kHZ sampling rate.

This adds endless possibilities for musicians and vocalists performing at any of C3’s four services.

The personal monitoring systems will give increased control to the church’s stable of talented artists and musicians.

“The SD series consoles range from the rack-mounted SD11 all the way up to the SD7 with something in the middle that is perfect for any situation,” Payne says zealously. “As we grow, the plan is to have all venues using an SD console for continuity and ease of training.”

The execution of the C3 install perfectly illustrates Morris’ core principle.

“We value personal relationships,” Hagood affirms. “We strive to understand who they are, what is important to them and what the church needs to thrive.”

According to Payne, they completely achieved their goal.

He says, “Morris went over and above what they were hired to do, while ensuring that our expectations were met on every level.”

From light and sound experiences for multi-stage festivals, conferences, and sold-out stadiums to integrating equipment and system designs that create dynamic immersive events in churches and corporations, Morris takes the time to consult, strategize and thoroughly design an audio-visual environment tailored to each client’s goals, www.experiencemorris.com.
